Tales from the Crypt: Lover, Come Hack to Me (1989)

In TALES FROM THE CRYPT: “Lover, Come Hack to Me,” we begin with an oft-used premise. Newlywed couple driving through torrential rains forced to stop after they find a felled tree blocking their path. So, what do they do? They go a-wandering and, much like our heroes in THE ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW, they happen upon an old dark house. Unfortunately for them, there’s no dancing Transylvanians or a very horny surgeon who fancies himself “a sweet transvestite.” Something much more sinister awaits them beyond the threshold. So sinister, in fact, that producers of the show end up recycling one of the main props a few seasons down the line. As the saying goes, a good man is hard to find—especially after he’s been chopped into so many pieces! Hehehehehe! For this week’s TV commentary of The Blind Rage Podcast, it’s another classic episode of TALES FROM THE CRYPT. In “Split Second,” Michelle Johnson (WAXWORK, DR. GIGGLES) stars as Liz, a cocktail waitress-turned-housewife to Steve Dixon (Brion James, THE HORROR SHOW). Liz is not only bored with her brand new status, but she’s bored with Steve. Soon, she has her sights set on Ted (Billy Wirth, SEVEN MINUTES IN HEAVEN), which leads to sparks flying and chainsaw blades spinning!
