A Deep Dive into the Anti-Choice Politics of Louisiana with State Representative Mandie Landry (LA, D-91)

In this episode we take a virtual road trip down to Louisiana to chat with State Representative Mandie Landry (LA, D-91) on what it’s like to be pro-choice in a heavily red (and anti-choice) state. Walking us through her experiences, her conversations with colleagues, and painting the picture as to the political landscape of the state, we learned there is much more than meets the eye when it comes to the overall topic of women’s health in the state. From maternal morbidity rates to access to sex education, and the many barriers and political pawn work done in the state (and by its geographic neighbors), the takeaways were incredibly eyeopening.
