In today’s episode I have the pleasure to talk to Karen Robinson who is a renowned Osteopath.
As well as being an osteopath Karen is a teacher who has taught at the European School of Osteopathy.
She was a council member of the British Osteopathic Association, culminating with her being the President from 2006-2008.
Karen established her own clinic over 20 years ago and now works with a team of talented osteopaths and sports therapists.
She has also studied medical acupuncture, paediatric and cranial osteopathy.
After some personal challenges, which included a heart incident in 2007, which led her to start looking at other ways in which we can view and help the body.
This has influenced her choices in life and also her training.
She has experienced many different therapies, including transformational breathing, past life regression, acupuncture, medical herbalism, various styles of meditation, yoga, and somatics.
Karen has studied shiatsu, pain management, trained in family/systemic constellations, and embarked on a course on Mind Body Therapy.
One of her specialities is looking at how trauma is held in the body, how it is expressed and what we can do to support and heal ourselves and other people. Amongst many interesting subjects about helping the mind body and soul, we discuss the pain of suffering that we have to go through until we choose the right path to follow and how the power to change begins with us. A deeply fascinating talk that gently opens up the way for healing and understanding ourselves in order to find the courage to live the life we deserve.
