But, friendships have huge mental fitness implications as well physiological benefits including better immune function, decreased risk of disease, illness and injury, increased longevity, reduced stress and faster recovery from illness. It is important to have friends!
Distinguishing the difference between feeling lonely and feeling alone, this episode is geared towards the external factors of feeling lonely and, using the example of how he navigated having to make new friends when his first marriage ended, Jimi gives his best ‘how to’ tips to finding new friends and developing more meaningful friendships.
