In the U.S., National Aviation Day was celebrated last week on August 19. Aviation Day was established in 1939 by President Franklin Delano Roosevelt after FDR issued a Presidential proclamation, which designated Orville Wright’s birthdate (August 19) to be National Aviation Day.
