On this episode of the Adventures of Pipeman, Pipeman speaks to Richie and Kevin from Weapons of Anew about all the exciting things going on with the band. This is Richie’s first album with the band and Pipeman likes his version of the song Sick Boy more than the other version as they discuss how chemistry is key, especially when a new member comes in. Pipeman also talks about how he loves when people cross genre’s like Weapons of Anew have done on this album as he’s from a time when genre crossing didn’t happen. Pipeman briefly touches on the Voodoo Bash event coming up and not having played live since lockdown before moving on to discuss the new album Art of War which was produced by Mike Foretti. And has themes of love and loss. Richie and Kevin explain that the original elements of the first record are still there but it’s a clear evolution and a step forward, as well as using the Beatles as an example of how a producer can add so much to making music, which evolves into a conversation about the new Paul McCartney documentary breaking down the songs of the Beatles. You can check the band out at Weapons of Anew on all social platforms and streaming platforms.
