To round off Season 3 (yeah, I know!), we've got the fabulous Colleen Green.
BREAKING NEWS: Colleen reveals all about what this means: ”Did I ever send your shirt? I think I did. But maybe I didn’t. Sorry 'bout that”.
Ah, seriously, Colleen is one of my fave artists. A natural born songwriter with the lo-fi buzz of The Strokes, the glorious three-power chord cool of Ramones and the effortless melodies of Veronica Falls. Her songs are funny yet intensely personal stories of her journey to become the best version of herself, a theme continued on her new record, Cool (to be released on 10 September 2021 and the follow up to 2015's I Want To Grow Up).
Colleen has been living with an auto-immune condition since she was 24. I feel fatuous saying that this has changed her life - of course it has.
Her thoughtfulness, humility, gratitude and resilience are hallmarks of her warm personality. She has made these changes work for her, not against her.
Colleen's analogy of a phoenix is a vivid reminder of how our survival is often outside our control. I'm grateful that she talks so openly about it.
