Moment of Meditation: Rushing Joy (Matthew 28:8)

''So they departed quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy, and ran to tell his disciples (Matthew 28:8).''

Having seen the angel, the women rushed from Jesus' empty tomb. Joyous that Jesus had been raised from the dead. He was alive! Now they needed to tell the disciples.

While they were excited over the news, any angelic appearance causes fear. A heavenly being gives you a message. It's frightening because these angels stand in holy God's presence.

But the message given is always a joyous message. And it is everyone's duty who hears it to joyfully pass it along to those around us.

Do you know someone who doesn't know Jesus? Rush to them with His message. Be joyful and tell them the good news of Easter resurrection. Amen.
