In the month before Hurricane Katrina, two young people fell in love in New Orleans, Louisiana. They were Zack Bowen and Addie Hall. He was a 28-year-old Iraq war veteran, an already-divorced father of two. She was a hippie, a free spirit and a dreamer. They rode out the storm together, a famous picture of the two of them partying amongst the rubble, even showing up in Playboy and other national publications. But, in the aftermath of Katrina, things between the couple deteriorated and their downward spiral into drugs and alcohol, along with the seedy underbelly of the city, would produce a horrific outcome that no one could see coming.
