Ethics and Social and Political; Cruel to be Kind and Virtue Ethics? What's your Habitat?
Hi people!
One of the features of Virtue Ethics, and Any Society based on the assumption of mostly virtuous--good--people, is how there is a back and forth between mistakes (the extremes) and a place between the not based on fear but habit. Out of habit--what we do just because we have learned for years the wisdom of that pattern of reaction to life, to ourselves, and to each other, we almost always do. That is, a "habit". It also means "habitat", Home. Think about it.
That's Social and Political Philosophy. Think of it: A society of Good People. How could we encourage, build and keep that? Aristotle wanted to know how we create Good Habits. And for Aristotle, this meant virtue.
So here is an account, personal--because in this world you really don't need to make up stories, especially if you're paying attention and responding--of some money I accidentally found as a child, and what happened. Being a child, ~10, I thought a lot about it. And tried to make out of wrong right. Let's see if we can see where Aristotle steps up and solves the problem, long before I met with even the name "Aristotle". Enjoy!
So who do you want to live next door to?
Cheers~
