I AM The Way II – The approach of God
In the book of Leviticus, we find a story of Aaron’s sons approaching God their own way. The result of that was death. In the pattern of the Old Covenant there was an approach unto God set forth. Only one day, one time, and one way could any come to the presence of the Lord. This was the way of the High Priest on the day of Atonement. This stood as an example until the time would come when THE WAY into the presence of God came.
The WAY into God’s presence is Jesus Christ. When we come unto God in Christ, that is what we do. We come IN CHRIST! No man comes but by Christ. We approach God in Christ. He is our approach unto the Father. We do not approach God by our own selves. Even when we are born again, it is not now Christ and me. It is Christ in me. The approach to God is in and through Him that lives in us.
“At that day you shall know that I AM in the Father, ye in me, and I in you,” John 14:20. Earlier in this Chapter, it is recorded that Jesus declared He would receive us to Himself. He did just that in our New Birth. He came into our hearts and received us to Himself. We were born again into Christ. It was a new birth. Now we must come into the presence and fullness of God through Him that dwells within us. In fact, the presence and fullness of God is in Him that dwells within us. Glory to God.
