Former Cincinnati Bengals defensive lineman John Thornton gets In The Trenches with Dave Lapham presented by First Star Logistics.
Thornton talks about his youth and a prep career that led him to West Virginia University where he earned All-Big East honors twice and First-team All-America honors as a senior. The Tennessee Titans selected Thornton in the second round of the 1999 NFL Draft where he made his debut against his future team, the Cincinnati Bengals. While with the Titans, Thornton played in Super Bowl XXXIV in a heartbreaking loss to the St. Louis Rams.
Thornton came to Cincinnati in 2003 where he enjoyed a solid six years to finish out his career.
After his playing days, Thornton stayed in Cincinnati and has already seen his son Jalen Thornton follow in his footsteps to West Virginia University. Son Ty Thornton is a standout quarterback at Indian Hill High School and a prospect to watch in the 2022 recruiting class.
Currently, Thornton is an NFL agent for Roc Nation Sports.
