Many times when people purchase a home they believe that if they go to the listing agent directly they will get a better deal and that the listing agent is bound to look after their interests. This is often a myth. The listing agent represents the seller, their job is to get the most money with the best terms for the seller. They have no interest in what the buyer is doing other than to make the sale. With this being said, they are still obligated to be ethical and act responsibly.
