Usually, we here at Anime Was (Not) a Mistake pride ourselves on being. “Fast, cheap, but average.” However, that is not the case today! Jonathan and Dan welcome you all to our first Asian film festival, entitled Animasterpiece Theater. For the next few weeks, we are donning our best berets and looking at some Classique Asian cinema spanning decades and our personal tastes, from our box seats. Won’t you join us? Tonight, we begin our little festival with Shin'ichirô Ueda’s cinematic, cult classic, comedy-horror One Cut of the Dead (2017). This will be sure to thrill, chill, and maybe even KILL you…from laughter. Get your prop bloody arms ready, take your union provided bathroom break, and most importantly, whatever happens, absolutely “Do not stop rolling!”
