Cheryl is a Research Professor at Durban University of Technology, and Head of Genderjustice,Health and Human Development. She was previously Deputy Vice-Chancellor at the University of KwaZulu-Natal. In this episode we discuss the importance of politically active scholarship and why we need to center the voices of Black women. What are doing wrong when we discuss sexuality in scientific discourses? How can disaster studies bring sexuality into the frame in a transformative way?
