Winter is the season of stark, beautiful contrasts with shorter days of cooler weather, allowing quiet time and reflection. This meditative sleep story embodies the spirit of the season. A reindeer will pull you on a sledge through a wintery landscape. When you reach your destination, you will experience Yule at an isolated log cabin in a forest.
Yule predates the Christmas holiday by thousands of years. Linguists suggest the name Yule originates from the Anglo-Saxon word "Iul," which means wheel, and consequently draws a link to the wheel figured in the Celtic calendar. In the Norse culture, "Jul" refers to the god Odin, who was also celebrated throughout Yule. Yule celebrations included bonfires, decorating with holly, mistletoe and the boughs of evergreen trees, feasts, and gift-giving.
