A major EU project to engage people across the bloc on shaping Europe's future kicked off in Ireland this morning (Friday morning 11:00am Irish time).
Taoiseach Micheál Martin and Minister Simon Coveney delivered online addresses at the Irish launch of the Conference on the Future of Europe. It’s a joint initiative of the three EU institutions – the Council, Parliament and Commission. And it will involve a year-long series of conferences and consultations aimed at promoting greater citizen engagement in determining the future of the EU.
Karen Coleman now reports on how the Conference will be rolled out in Ireland and what kind of issues could crop up during it.
