Education:Self-Improvement
Harry Potvin is a competitive swimmer and recent graduate of the University of Guelph in Ontario, Canada. Having struggled with mental health issues throughout his college career, Harry is an advocate and champion for honest conversation on mental health and seeking out resources to get necessary support. He hosts a wildly successful podcast called The Mental Corner, where he and guests unpack overcoming mental health challenges.
In this episode, Damon talks with Harry about navigating mental health as a student and athlete, suicide, the dangers of struggling in silence and the impact of finding the right resources.
Harry's story is so powerful - but it's sadly not unique. All too often, young people, athletes, high-performers and leaders are struggling with mental health challenges, and many of them are doing so in silence. This episode is our opportunity to say we see you, we hear you and it's okay to not be okay (but it's not okay to not ask for help.)
