This week marks the tenth anniversary of Matthew Vaughn's X-Men First Class, a soft reboot of the X-Men film saga that was first brought to screen in 2000. Set in 1962, First Class not only tells the story of the first students of Xavier's School For Gifted Youngsters, but also serves as a brilliant revenge film, with a young Erik Lensherr (Michael Fassbender) determined to find and destroy his mother's killer (Kevin Bacon). Vaughn's spy-era motif provides the perfect backdrop to this origin story and introduces us to Professor X (James MacAvoy), Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence), and Beast (Nicholas Hoult), as they attempt to stop a group of misguided mutants from starting a world war.
