Have you ever despised doing something around the house or taking on a job that you hated?
Can you imagine what it would be like for the God of the universe to take on the job of sending His son to become human to deal with this this fallen world? It's hard for us to imagine God stepping down to become human in order that we might have a relationship with Him. What was going through God's mind to be so selfless and so loving and how can we emulate that?
Paul, in Philippians, was trying to shape people's thinking into the mind of Christ. When we think of Philippians we think of joy, but Paul also speaks quite a bit about knowing and attitude. "Be like minded" striving for unity and placing the interests of others first. We tend towards our sinful nature and it manifests itself in selfishness and pride. So we need a good dose of humility and selflessness among others.
In this podcast, Charlie walks us through Philippians 2:5-11 where we find out some of the things it takes to have the mind of Christ and then apply that in our lives.
