In an article for Psychology Today, titled How Self-Control Can Help You LIve a Healthier Life, written by Shahram Heshmat, Ph.D we learn the benefits of having self-control.
He concludes his article with this summary: Self-control is a psychological resource (protective factor) that can improve health and well-being. The beneficial effects of self-control suggest that interventions targeted at strengthening self-control may improve the overall well-being of the general population.
