The Daily Wake Up Micro Podcast
Business:Entrepreneurship
One of my guests last week on the Always Go Big Interview Podcast was an individual stricken with the incredibly rare disease “Fibroidodysplasia Ossificans Progressiva," FOP for short.
Here’s a description from IFOPA.org:
Malformation of the great toes
One of the rarest, most disabling genetic conditions known to medicine, FOP causes bone to form in muscles, tendons, ligaments and other connective tissues. Bridges of extra bone develop across joints, progressively restricting movement and forming a second skeleton that imprisons the body in bone. There are no other known examples in medicine of one normal organ system turning into another.
Ever since she was five years old, Theresa "Tisa" Caruso, has dealt with the effects of FOP, yet she still believes she will be healed and able to walk again. When I asked her how she overcomes negative thoughts on a daily basis, her response shocked me since it was unlike any response from a previous guest I've had. "I don't really have negative thoughts," she said. She went on to share how her faith in God and Jesus Christ, along with protecting her mind keeps her positive.
Incredible!
As he we start the week, let's follow Tisa's example and not feel sorry about ourselves, focusing on the good things in our life as me move forward in our journey.
