The other day my wife and I decided to implement some tough love with our high school daughters.
They are to now wake up on their own.
Full transparency, this one hurts. Since I’m up before them I hear their Alexa alarm go off, and I also hear them say, “Alexa stop.”
The alarm stops and they are still sleeping.
Everything in me wants to wake them up, hold them close, and teach/coach/ advise them to wake up since they are going to be late for school.
If I continue to do that with my 16 and 14 year old, how will they learn to face this challenge on their own?
They are of the age to get up on their own.

There are benefits of tough love and one of them is the self-realization by the other that they wouldn’t have had the opportunity to address.
