The Daily Wake Up Micro Podcast
Business:Entrepreneurship
Over the weekend my mother asked me, "why aren't there more views for your video??? It was so good. Should I reshare it?"
The video she's talking about is the third episode of my Adventures in WFH (Working From Home) videos that I publish on Fridays from time to time.
Here is the episode she is referring to: https://youtu.be/rWxldHQiyJ0
Views are important and should be monitored, however I don't believe we should ever do things we are passionate about (relating to content) because of the number of views.
So many early content creators will go out on a limb and publish something they have spent a lot of time creating, are proud of it, and because their views are lower than expected they give up.
My philosophy is, do what you love doing. Have yourself be the primary audience. If you like the content you are producing, keep producing it. Ignore the outside critics that may criticize the quality of your production and embrace the feedback of the quality of content. For example, if you aren't a good singer, and struggle to stay on key, yet want to share it with the world, well, that's not what I'm talking about when I say, "if you like it." There still should be some quality in the content you are producing (yes - music counts as content).
What do you find joy in doing?
Now go do it! Not for the views; for the joy of doing.
