Often times when someone wins a prestigious award there is someone in their life that they thank; someone that has put aside their own dreams and aspirations for others. This was the case with the number one pick in the NBA Draft, Zion Williamson.
He was expected by everyone to go number one and when it happened he was still overwhelmed by emotion. As he struggled to put his emotions into words, he thanked his mom for her belief, support, and sacrifice so he could be where he was at that moment.
Who in your life has sacrificed so you can accomplish greatness?
All the great ones have or had someone in their life that showed that kind of support on a daily basis.
As Zion Williamson shed tears describing his support system it hit me. There is no one in my life that I feel that way towards. Then it hit me again. There is no one that I am giving that kind of support to, it's not about the support system that I 'should' get, it's about the support system that I should be giving to those that are closest to me.
This revelation was a sobering one and one that I am grateful for; one that will spark change.
You got it, not go #getit
