There is a Future in the Family of God
Text: Galatians 6: 7-10; vs.10
Thesis: “A Cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.” (Proverbs 17:22)
- The Family that plays together stays together!
- The Apostle Paul is instructing Christians to “do good to all people, especially the family of God.” (vs10)
- This instruction is in keeping with the command of Christ to “Love thy neighbor as thyself.” (Mark 12:31)
- “Treat your family like friends and your friends like family.” Anonymous
- The Apostle Paul not only instructs on whom we should “do good” towards but instructs on the frequency. “Therefore, as we have opportunity.”
- We are all faced with a series of great opportunities brilliantly disguised as impossible situations. (Charles R. Swindoll)
- The Apostle Paul clearly teaches “To do Good”.
- God reveals, “A Cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.” (Proverbs 17:22)
- Laughter is a healthy, wholesome activity. People need to laugh.
- “Laughter is a powerful medicine. It has been proven to lower blood pressure and reduces stress hormones.”
- The family that Prays together stays together.
- Praying for someone is a superior way to “doing good” to another.
- Jesus is the head of the family and when we pray, we allow him into the inner circle.
- Praying with another person creates a sense of belonging.
