I have such a long ways to go with further surgical procedures and cosmetic surgery. I was told an estimated guess of January 2022. To me, it seems like a century away to regain my entire face back to some sort of normalcy.
I have been graduating to learning how to drink out of a glass again. It's all been a process of relearning, what most take for granted. The little things in life.
After being approved for travel, within reason. I took advantage of the opportunity to enjoy beautiful scenery and a really great glass of wine along the way. I've also been reintroducing my passion for fitness back into my life. Doing my best to remain as healthy as possible.
I wear a mask, almost... 24/7. Not only to keep risk of infection down, due to still being in the beginning stages of post-surgical recovery. But also because, let's be honest, until cosmetic surgeons are able to put a smile and jaw features back together on my face. It can be quite a shock for others to see out in the general public.
What gets me through the tough times, rough and challenging days, is my faith. I am one of the lucky ones. Born to fight, to live to see another day.
