This week's guest on The Red Light Report is an absolute wealth of knowledge when it comes to holistic health and wellness and, on top of that, is an absolute positive, kindhearted human being.
Dr. Tyler Jean is ultimately passionate about educating others on the importance of food as medicine while inspiring them to embrace healthier lifestyles. He is a former Division I swimmer and a recovering perfectionist. Dr. Jean received his B.S. in Cell and Molecular Biology and just graduated (this past week -- congrats!) from his medical schooling and is now a Naturopathic Doctor.
Dr. Jean embarked on his medical journey after becoming frustrated with the medical system and having his own share of health issues, including generalized anxiety, asthma, eczema, and ADHD. He found a lot of healing in food, so he originally started his Instagram account as a vegan recipe page during his 18-month journey as a vegan foodie.
However, through trial and error he learned that the catabolic nature of a strict vegan diet ultimately became incompatible with his body and left him depleted and cachectic. After spending several years in both laboratory (neuroscience) and clinical research (type I diabetes), he decided to pursue a career in clinical care — one that took an integrative, holistic, and preventative approach to medicine.
Now freshly graduated, he gets to apply his experiences, knowledge and expertise to his patients in a clinical setting. Needless to say, patients that are lucky enough to be under the care of Dr. Jean are in profoundly compassionate and healing hands.
