The role the EU played in response to covid has been praised by a Fine Gael MEP. The EU has started work on boosting its health agencies to learn the lessons from weaknesses revealed by the pandemic. The plans include broadening the remit for the European Medicines Agency and better co-ordination with the EU’s 27 member states. The proposals have the backing of MEP, Deirdre Clune. She says the EU did a good job, but it makes sense to go further.
