If you didn’t know, the 2021 Tokyo Summer Olympics are jumpin off this week and athletes across the world are set to do their thing. There have already been a ton of storylines that have come about leading up to the Olympic games this year, but one in particular surrounds the women’s national soccer team's ongoing lawsuit for equal pay. The guest this week is perfect to go into the finer points of the lawsuit, so let me introduce y'all to Jackie Gutierrez aka Jackie G. Jackie is a sports journalist and founder of Women Kick Balls, an independent news source that exists to capture women’s soccer in an authentic voice. We chop it up about how she started writing, the support she has had from her family (Shout out uncle Joe), and the importance of equality in professional sports.
