Yale Law PhD candidate Sarah Braasch led a fairly interesting life prior to May 2018, but her world turned upside down when she called the non-emergency police on someone sleeping in a common area without a card key, which means he did not live in that dormitory. This turned into a massive scandal at Yale, and Sarah was labeled a racist for calling the cops over the crime of "napping while black."
Due to the immense blowback, which has been extremely trying on her fragile mental state, she has decided to fight for her reputation. She told her story to Tony Mazur on the Check Your Brain podcast, along with the fallout from Yale Law, her dire financial situation, and how she has balanced her mental health during this time.
Because she cannot get a job anywhere, she has accumulated a massive amount of debt from working towards her doctorate and just overall living expenses. Her GoFundMe page is posted here, if you are interested in donating to her cause: https://www.gofundme.com/f/w6xyg-sarah-braasch-legal-fund
