July 28, 2021 - A Look Back: Aliens

Following the success of 1984's The Terminator, director James Cameron accepted the challenge of making a sequel to Ridley Scott's groundbreaking sci-fi/horror film Alien. Rather than attempt to follow the prescribed formula set out by his predecessor, Cameron decided to switch gears completely and combine the horror elements of Alien with all the action and energy of The Terminator. The result came to be known as Aliens and is now considered by many to be one of the greatest movies of the 1980s and arguably one of the best sci-fi movies ever made.
