The latest AFTN Soccer Show is out for another packed show of Vancouver Whitecaps, MLS, Canadian Premier League, and Canadian national team chat.
What a week of football. What a week of emotions. There's been highs, there's been heartbreak, there's been feelings of immense pride and gut punches. Would we have it any other way? Well we try and cover it all in this episode.
Kicking things off with the Whitecaps, we pick over the bones of their 2-2 draw with Minnesota United in their final 'home' match in Utah and hear from head coaches Marc Dos Santos and Adrian Heath and the man that gave away the crucial penalty at the end, Minnesota's Ethan Finlay.
It wasn't a great overall performance, but the Whitecaps showed fight to leave with a point. They need a lot more though, can Ryan Gauld provide that for them now that he's officially signed? And what other help do they need?
Turning our attention to the international stage, we look at the joy of Canada's women's team getting to the gold medal match at the Olympics and the heartbreak of the Canadian men's team losing their Gold Cup semi-final to a last minute winner, plus we hear from John Herdman, Maxime Crepeau and Jonathan Osorio.
And there's still time for a round-up of all the big talking points in Major League Soccer and the Canadian Premier League, and we hear from Pa Modou Kah, Marco Bustos and Tommy Wheeldon Jr.
Here's the rundown for the main segments from the episode:
