The Gris Alves’ Podcast Tales of Recovery
Society & Culture:Personal Journals
Sarah is back on the Tales of Recovery Podcast this week to share the beautiful story of her Dad's death and at home funeral for his passing in March.
Sarah supported her Dad through his last ten years of struggling with Alzheimer's. She shares her father daughter love story, her intense grief work, the collective culture's denial of grief and how it affects us as a society. She reminds us that we know how to take care of our own and nudges all of us to remember this important birthright and love gift. Sarah is part of an important movement to embrace grief in community and ritual.
We are co-hosting Death Cafe this August 14th @reunifyyoga in Ocean Beach. This is an opportunity for people to gather, share tea and acknowledge our mortality. A heart felt community circle and opportunity to "cozy up" to grief and explore both personal and cultural/collective relationships to death and dying. You can register at www.reuniyyoga.com and please follow Sarah on IG @griefisariver, and on her webpage www.griefisariver.com
www.integratedmdcare.com is the link for the advocates in palliative care Sarah mentions in this episode.
May this conversation heal our hearts~
