Empowering Chats with Susan Burrell
Education:Self-Improvement
Ep #153 - I am always in awe of the power that motivation and love of family can have on an individual to step out of their comfort zone and do what feels right. My guest in this episode of Empowering Chats is Angela Pearson, who is one such person. She did not allow the law of the land to dictate how she should take care for her kids, knowing that “one size does not fit all.”
After her oldest son, was given the standard childhood vaccines he developed side effects which eventually led to chronic symptoms of systemic lupus, which has caused lifelong challenges for him. So, when it came time for her daughter and youngest son to get vaccinated, she opted out only to have the Governor of her home state, New York, mandate that only vaccinated children could attend public school.
She decided to homeschool her children, but she was still concerned about the impact of her kids feeling rejected by other children simply for not being vaccinated. And so, from this experience she decided to pen a children’s book exploring a child’s angst at these adult issues and help them to see and understand that there is nothing wrong with them.
The book is called, “I Am Not Contagious,” and follows the journey from a youngster’s perspective. Angela and I share an Empowering Chat about the importance of speaking up and advocating for medical freedom and informed consent.
