One of the aspects of worldliness that the apostle John called us to avoid is the pride of life. It is a dangerous sin because it can infect us regardless of our financial or social status. Some of the poorest Christians can struggle with the pride of life. Hezekiah, after recovering from his sickness, was enriched by God through gifts from other kings and kingdoms. But he let the accumulation of wealth go to his head. His attitude toward his possessions resulted in judgment from God. Tonight’s sermon: Beware the Pride of Life. (2 Kings 20:12-19)
