Creating the Adventure of a Lifetime with Special Guests, Dr. Ian Barnard & Ryan Reynolds
057: Ever think about just leaving your job and going on a long adventure?
We do, which is why my husband and I are about to take 2 months off work to hike the Camino De Santiago. We are doing the Camino Del Norte Route (513+ miles) that goes along the Atlantic coast of Spain starting near France. We will add even more distance as we trek near Portugal.
The El Camino de Santiago is Spain’s famous trail. It has become one of the most popular walking holidays and spiritual journeys in Europe. Although pilgrims originally made the long walk to Santiago de Compostela to see the legendary remains of the Apostle Saint James, today people walk the Camino for all sorts of reasons.
After that, we’re coming home for 4 months then going to live in the woods for 6 months (maybe a little more, maybe a little less) as we hike the 2190+ mile Appalachian Trail from Maine to Georgia.
In this episode, we will talk about:
-WHY we REALLY want to complete these long hikes.
-What do we do for a living that allows us a life of so much travel?
-What are we most afraid of about this journey?
-What are we most excited about?
