Are you struggling to get outside with the cold temperatures, snow, and ice? While some adventures might look like building a snowman in the backyard and others might look like snowshoeing in the backcountry, we have some tips and tricks to help making winter adventures with kids a little easier.
Layers -
-2 piece suits once kiddos are out of diapers is key! [Fun tip: A 5 Gallon Paint Bucket with Toilet Training Seat works great in the car]
-Base layer (wool or synthetics), mid-layer fleece, waterproof or water resistant outer layer (ie. MEC Bunting Suit)
-Neck warmer, toque/winter hat, waterproof boots, mittens/gloves
For on the trail -
-Ice cleats/crampons - for kids, use size XS and then tie on with a zip tie
-Snowshoes and poles
-Make sure to follow signage on adventures!
-Pack a sled!!
