The way to Peace

Philippians 2:9-10

THE WAY TO PEACE

Paul in this chapter speaks of the Humility of Jesus Christ.

Because Jesus was faithful, obedient, and even humbled himself to the point of death, God exalted/lifted Him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every other name (v9)

The scripture tells us as to how God exalted, honored and glorified Jesus. God the Father said that “This is my Son, in whom I am very much pleased and listen to Him.

Peter also witnessed what God said about Jesus, he records it in 2 Peter 1:17 “He received honor and glory from God the Father when the voice came to him from the Majestic Glory, saying,“This is my Son, whom I love; with him, I am well pleased".

The name of Jesus is a powerful name and God gave him the name above every other name. 

Isaiah 9:6 records that “He will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

God not only exalted Jesus to the highest place but made it possible or accessed the covenant of Peace.

Love and Eternal life for all God’s children through Jesus Christ. 

That is why Jesus said in John 14:6 "I am the way and the truth and the life. 

No one comes to the Father except through me.

It is at the name of Jesus that every knee will bow in heaven and on earth and under the earth.

Bowing down to Jesus is an action that represents honor, respect, reverence, worship, praise, glorification, and exaltation to the Lord. 

Bowing down also expresses the acknowledgment that Jesus is the true living God and there is no other god like Him in this world.

Paul writes that every knee in:

1. Heaven – the angels

2. On earth – all the people (both wicked and righteous)

3. Under the earth, the dead and the buried (both wicked and righteous)

And these people will confess Jesus Christ is Lord to the Glory of God the Father.

Interestingly, not only people of this world will acknowledge Jesus Christ as the true God and Savior but even the demons too.

James 2:19 says “You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that and shudder.”

Luke 10:17 records that the 70 disciples report to Jesus that “even demons fear your Name.”

Mark 1:23-24, the demon said “I know who you are, you are the Holy One, God.”

We have come to the days where very soon the whole world is going to acknowledge that

1. Jesus Christ is Lord and Savior

2. He is the way, the truth, and the life.

3. And there is no God like Jesus

It is in our hands to fulfill the Promises of God: to fulfill the greatest commission;

- To preach and reach to people all over the world

- To attain the gift of Peace, Love, and Eternal life

- To exalt and Glorify God.

Let Us Pray

Dear Lord, thank you for the opportunity to understand your humility and know the authority that you had. Yet lord, you had the humility like any other. Help us to follow you. In Jesus' name. Amen.
