8.29 [Conversation] Eric Helvie and ALARM founder Dr. Celestin Musekura continue their discussion and wrap up Genesis 1: Life Together, Again in the Fourth and Final Part of the sermon series.
Dr. Musekura - For some Christians, we misunderstand actually what reconciliation means or what community is. We have probably had a bad understanding that we are saved to form a group that is self-serving. The reason why I’m involved in reconciliation is to challenge us, Christians, to understand that Christ calls us to love our neighbors. To love God and to love our neighbors like we love ourselves… Now we have defined neighbors as those who look like us, those who think like us with the same religion, with the same doctrine. That’s wrong… reconciliation or the extension of God’s grace is an open embrace that welcomes everyone to the table. And, it’s by welcoming everyone to the table that we get to know them, we get to share with them, they get to share their journey. BUT, we want people to change their journey even before we know what it is.
