So I always had a little thing that I like to do. Getting some of these verses, the big PFAL verses, and then getting in there, digging them, ripping them apart, tugging them from every angle. Getting to the depth, the meat of it. Because I thought, I believed that maybe I could relive some of the thrill, some of the excitement that Dr. Wierwille was looking at for the first time and it jumped out at him. And I've always been real blessed.
So this is a verse, I realized that I looked at this verse, how many times we’ve quoted it and we’ve talked about it, and it comes up. But I realized that I’d never done that with this verse. So I decided to do it and it totally opened up my eyes with understanding to what God’s word is regarding a certain aspect of our life.
And it’s 3 John, verse 2. Nobody knows this verse, right? You all have to read your Bible to look at it.
3 John 1:2:
Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest [what?] prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.
And I began to think. Okay, well, now what is God’s heart here? What is involved? Too many times, for most of our believers, being in healthy means not being sick. How limited. For most of them, we say this verse, when we think of this verse we think of two things; money and not going into the hospital. And, you know, that’s right. That’s what nine times out of ten will run through a believer’s mind when thinking about this verse; well, I can make a lot of money and I won’t be in the hospital.
