On this episode of March Forth with Mike Bauman, Mike chats with Tyler Small, co-vocalist of Saving Vice!
Rounded out by Chase Papariello (co-vocals), Robbie Litchfield (guitar), Kenjamin Smiertelny (bass) and Sam Whelton (drums), Saving Vice is a metalcore band from Vermont that started in 2017. Over the years, they've played festivals like Warped Tour, the iMatter Festival and Heavy Fest.
Last year, Saving Vice followed up their 2018 EP Colder Than Dark with their debut LP Hello There. In July, they dropped their latest single "Phantom Pain," which is closing in on 70,000 Spotify streams less than two months after its release. Additionally, the accompanying music video for "Phantom Pain" has amassed nearly 254,000 YouTube views.
In this conversation, Tyler speaks with Mike about the success of "Phantom Pain," the intricacies and references in Saving Vice's songs, battling through the pandemic, dealing with anxiety, music as an outlet, and more.
