For the unfamiliar – Beef Rap is not a bovine offshoot of the popular music genre. To have ‘beef’ with another person is to take umbrage with something they have done or said. In Rap music, these issues are best addressed through the medium of song. Fury is not always the motivation for starting a lyrical feud. Some are looking to make a name for themselves, assert their overall dominance over the entire genre or, if you’re in and around of the Ultramagentic MC’s, you do it for the belly laughs. The fans, the ‘experts’ and the artists themselves have all addressed and come to their own conclusions about this legendary beef – but perhaps the feeble view of three Scottish dorks will finally settle the argument.
