“Finally, Be Strong in the Lord”
Part I
TEXT: Ephesians 6:10-13
ACTION STEP: Do an inventory of your Spiritual readiness so that you will be a mighty warrior for Christ.
I. The Christian must rely upon the strength of the Lord to defeat Satan” (vs 10)
A. “Finally”, means not in conclusion, but from this time on.
1. To succeed spiritually we must consciously choose to be pro-active in our faith – with conviction.
2. Practical Steps:
a. Enroll in a Sunday School class, deception is on the rise.
b. Commit to a specific prayer time, prayer is the key to power.
c. Be actively involved in a ministry, don’t soak and sour.
Worship together as a family, the family is in crisis.
II. The Christian must put on God’s armor for spiritual battle. (vs. 11&13)
A. “Put on the full armor of God,
so that when the day of evil comes,
you may be able to stand your ground,
after you have done everything to stand,” (vs13)
B. Be alert to the “devil’s schemes.”
“Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around as a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.” ( I Peter 5:8)
1. The subtle traps of Satan. (Read Ephesians 5: 3-7)
2. Satan has never created anything; he only perverts the things of God.
C. Apostle Paul warns “For Satan himself masquerades as an Angel of light.” (2 Cor. 11:14)
D. Jesus warns about conditions prior to His return.
"Be careful, or your hearts will be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness and the anxieties of life, and that day will close on you suddenly like a trap. For it will come on all those who live on the face of the whole earth. Be always on the watch, and pray that you may be able to escape all that is about to happen, and that you may be able to stand before the Son of Man." (Luke 21:34-36)
III. The Christian’s struggle is not against their spouse, children, employer, employee, political leadership or their neighbor, but the “devil”. (vs12)
“Pray for those who persecute you.”
