26 - Mere Humans Make Pretty Disappointing Heroes; We Have the True Hero We‘re Looking for in Jesus
Today, we're taking another short break from our Women of the Bible Series to address making heroes out of mere humans. This includes: superhero-ing people, looking at certain professions as heroic, and having personal heroes beyond what's spiritually healthy for us. Of course there's nothing wrong with admiring people we love and look up to. Mentors are good and Biblical. However, when we think mere humans are perfect or see the flaws in people we hero-worship, we certainly run into trouble. And sometimes we don't see the flaws, including racism, and that leads to poisonous results as well.
Key Bible Verses: Galatians 5:22-23, Luke 10:25-37, James 2:8-20, Philippians 2:3-4, Romans 3:21-26, 1 John 5:20-21
