In Genesis, we read that on the seventh day of creation, God rested (this is where we get the Sabbath). Later on in history, when God gave Moses the 10 Commandments, one of those commandments was to remember the Sabbath Day and to keep it holy. In following that command, the Hebrew people understand the last day of the week (Saturday) to be the Sabbath Day, but when Jesus started his Church, his followers quickly moved their holy day to Sunday, which is why so many churches gather for corporate worship on Sunday...but not all denominations worship on Sundays, though. So, what should we do? And more than that, are Christians required to keep the Sabbath Day anyways?
In this episode of RTC, Marc and Fuller discuss the Sabbath Day. They talk about what the Sabbath Day entails, why it's important, if Christians need to follow the Sabbath command, and if so, what day should the Sabbath be respected?
