In this episode I interview Karen Beattie. Karen has had a truly global life. Born in Trinidad and living in Libya, Nigeria, Jakarta, Abu Dhabi and Dubai all before arriving in Perth as a 13 year old.
Karen started The Growth Faculty from a small Sydney office in 2003 and set about achieving her ambitious mission to give business leaders access to the world’s best strategic thinkers and high achievers.
Together we discuss how 10 years of persistence finally paid off, the power of "Commit and GO" and the recurring dream/nightmare that kept her awake for 6 months. Karen has provided access to some of the world’s best thought leaders including Jim Collins, Simon Sinek, Brené Brown, Malala Yousafzai and President Barack Obama. We discuss how Karen felt as a leader during COVID and how anytime you stretch your comfort zone there is a period of self-doubt.
