Futurized - thought leadership on the future
Technology
In episode 130 of the Futurized podcast (@futurized2), the topic is: Future Bestsellers. Our guest is Vikrant Shaurya (@VikrantShaurya), CEO & founder, BestsellingBook.com. Futurized is hosted by Trond Arne Undheim (@trondau), futurist, author, investor, and serial entrepreneur.
In this conversation, they talk about: Why do people write books these days? What does it do for you? What is authority? How to you make it work in a monetization strategy? What is a bestseller? We discuss Vikrant's framework to Produce, Publish and Profit.
Trond's takeaway:
Writing a bestselling book is every author's dream. I've written five and I am nowhere near a full understanding of what it takes. How can Vikrant claim to have discovered the formula? It's exciting to see outsider perspectives on publishing because this ancient business model is surely changing. So, it seems, the motivation to write a book shouldn't so much be to sell it in thousands of copies as much as it should be to use it to become an expert and establish your authority and then use that platform to make a living in other ways. Makes a lot of sense, and then perhaps, with a bit of effort and investment, there's a method to selling a bunch of books, too. Who knows what books will look like in the future and who will be writing and marketing them? Surely, the machines will help.
