Psalm 50:14 – 15, 22 – 23 (NIV) 1 Thessalonians 5:16 – 17 (AMP Psalms 117:1 – 2 (NIV) 1 Corinthians 10: 1 – 5, 10 - 11 (AMP) Masomo Manne [Four Lessons] 1. Mungu wetu anataka tujifunze kumtegemea kila wakati [Our God wants us to learn to trust in Him]. When life’s situations do not go as planned, God wants us to learn to trust in Him. He knows what lies ahead and nothing gets Him by surprise Jeremiah 17:7 – 8 (NLT) 2. Mungu wetu anasikia malalamiko na manung’uniko yetu [Our God hears our complaining and our murmuring]. The Israelites complained and murmured a lot against the Lord and against Moses. Deuteronomy 1:27 God is listening for our praise, but, instead, He hears our complaints. 3. Mungu wetu anatawala kila wakati [Our God is always in full control]. Exodus 15:25 Psalms 29:10 – 11 (NIV) 4. Mungu anataka tumfanye yeye kuwa utoshelevu wetu [God want us to make Him our sufficiency] A point where we will not only need Him, but He will be sufficient to us. Exodus 15:27 (NKJV) God wants to bring us to “Elim” today; a place where He is our sufficiency. Kwa nini umshukuru Mungu [Why give thanks to God?] 1. Kumtambua Mungu kama chanzo cha Baraka zote [To acknowledging God as the source of all blessings/gifts] James 1:17 (NIV) Psalms 50:22, forgetting God is dangerous. Deuteronomy 6:10 – 12 (NIV) 2. Kumpa Mungu utukufu wote [To give God all the glory] He is a jealousy God who shares not His glory with anyone else. Isaiah 42:8 (NKJV) Luke 17:17 – 18 (KJV) 3. Inatumika kama kitia-moyo kwa wengine [It serves as an encouragement to others – not a show biz] Psalms 118:23 -24 (NIV) Psalms 40:3 (NKJV) We can identify with one of us – If God did it for this family, He can also do it for us. He despises no man. 4. Kumheshimu Mungu na kuandaa njia ya wokovu wake [To honour God and prepare the way for His salvation] Psalms 50:23 (NIV) 5. Kuthamini mapendeleo tuliyopewa [To appreciate privileges bestowed on us] Luke 17:14 – 19 (KJV) Conclusion We are called to be thankful people, to recognize and express appreciation for the benefits that we have received from God and others. We are all debtors, and we repay those debts with grateful hearts and words of thanksgiving. It is not enough to feel gratitude in our hearts. That gratitude must be communicated to those to whom we are indebted.
