How do we respond when things don't go to plan, or when people with checkered pasts or behavior have ongoing success? It's a sticky soup to be sure, won't you join us? POINT #1: "HOW ARE WE RESPONSIBLE?" -It's easy to cast blame but not so easy to see how we have played a role in it all. Truth is, people who do unsavory things are expressions of a systemic problem within our society. If we want to fix problems we need to get to the root of the issue. POINT #2: "WHAT WILL WE PUT IN THE WORLD?" -We can choose to put more compassion and forgiveness in the world or we can choose to put more hate and judgment. It's not necessarily easy or about not holding people accountable, but puts our values on the line for questioning. POINT #3: "WHAT DO WE GIVE MEANING?" -Ultimately we give everything all of the meaning it has to us. That doesn't mean that it is necessarily THE meaning for everyone and that we're right.
